Adding to 10


I am learning to write number sentences to 10.  I use the number line to help me count on.  I am working towards trying to do this in my head.

"I can do plus and equals.  I can count on from the peg."  said Zana

Phonics

We are learning to listen and record the sounds we can hear.  We are able to blend the sounds altogether.  We can use our phonics at Story writing and Reading time to help us.

" I can robot my sounds so you can use them at Reading and story writing.  We can learn more words." said Zana

Making Pizza





We made pizza as a class, using ingredients that we had grown ourselves. 
These photos show the writing process. We started with the 'draft stage', where students try to use the skills they have been taught. After 'conferencing' with the teacher and 'editing', they produce the 'published work' for their audience to enjoy.

Deep in the compost bin!

As part of our inquiry we have been looking at creatures that dwell in the darkness of our compost bins.
After we observed and handled these creatures, watched video clips and read books about them; we wrote these fabulous stories.

Part of the writing process is presenting our finished work in a way the captures our readers attention. We hope you enjoy viewing our quality work!

The skittles game is a fun way to learn about subtraction problems to ten. You also have to try and write a number sentence that matches the number of skittles standing up and lying down.

Maths

I am learning to play Murtle Turtle because it helps me add numbers onto 5.  

Zana said," This is Murtle Turtle. You have to roll the dice and put 5 in your head and count. It was tricky to remember 5 and keep counting."

Reading

I am learning to check if my reading makes sense.  I know this sentence is right because when I read it, it sounds right.

Zana says, " I am learning to put the words together. If we do it wrong it won't make sense. We have to read it again to check."

Scooter day

We are learning to keep ourselves safe when we are on a scooter.

Story writing

I am learning to write my story by myself.  I can use my word card and my sounds to help me write the words.

Zana said " I can write about my picture and I can do quality work.  I can do capital letters."
